About 6-8 months ago while playing basketball for the school team, she would get exhausted real quick and feel light headed after a run. Took Frog to the doc and was dissappointed with her answer, but used her advice anyway, to no avail. Frog is still getting dizzy spells after 2 months. TB practice had started and Frog could hardly finish them. Why is this 15 yr old, who has been a competitive athelete since age 7, acting this way? After a lot of questioning and pushing, I finally got the doc to refer her to a neurologist and a cardiologist. Neuro was fine. Cardio did some digging and after a stress test, we have found out why. During the test, as her heart rate increased, she had a decrease in blood flow, which he refered to as Qwaves (on the ticker tape like readings). Now we are after the cause of this. She is being refered to Vanderbilt so I have a lot of confidence that they will discover it. But until then, the Frog is banned from participating in any sport.
We should know more in the next couple weeks, and will keep everyone posted on what is going on.So if everyone could please say a little prayer that this is a fixable thing and she will be back to playing soon.
