Walk Out Songs

What's on your mind?

by Schmick » Fri Dec 07, 2018 1:59 am

Walk Out Songs,
Music that's played when the batter walks out to the plate or when a pitcher comes in to warm up.

What you got???

My son walked out to Attak by Rustie when he was playing college ball

https://youtu.be/_mO2VcJAkOw

When he was playing HS Ball he had Shipping Out To Boston by Dropkick Murphy's when he was in 10th and 11th grade. In 12th grade he had The Coolest Job by G-Eazy

https://youtu.be/x-64CaD8GXw

https://youtu.be/ym105ro1EM0

In HS though they limited the songs to 45 seconds

I tease my girl that if she plays on a softball team that has walkout music, her song will be Cash Me Outside by Roy Purdy

https://youtu.be/elPgBKL05N4

What would be your or your players songs.

In Virginia, VHSL Fastpitch Softball; no walk out music ... Music can be played only during dead ball periods.

Have only been to a few HS softball games here, I don't remember if they had walk out songs or not. In HS baseball they have.
I've seen a few teams at travel softball tournaments have walk out music but I don't think any of those teams were from here in So Cal. One team at sparkler in July had a recorded announcer give the batters name and then played her walkout song. I think they were from Texas

This has to be the least known, observed and enforced rule in NoVA. Just about every D6 program has walk up music.

You are correct ... I want to say VHSL released it in a largely ignored bulletin back in 2014 or 15 ... It was a particular sore spot with me because one of the teams in our district has speakers pointed directly down into the visitors dugout near the gate opening where coaches like to stand ... They like to blast it so that it makes it next to impossible to communicate with your defense ... I've argued it at their field and they shut it off, but it goes right back on their next game ... Umpires are reluctant to enforce it unless there is a complaint and there is no penalty as long as they shut the walk up music off ... Needless to say, I'm popular at their field as this complaining or arguing comes straight from my book of how to win friends and influence people.

High school was Bad Reputation from Jone Jett https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G9VSGPmkUc0
Which I thought was a good choice for her. In college DD1 has California Dreamin’ as she plays in Virginia, it’s appropriate, I guess. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gKcPjfMgvy4

DD2 played Mz. Hyde
