WCWS?

What's on your mind?

The plate ump in the Texas A&M vs. Louisiana-Lafayette sure was on top of those gnatty slappers stepping out of the box.

I love that they are FINALLY getting called for that....most slappers are always out of the box but it never gets called...or...at least I don't see it called as often nor consistently as that plate ump did. Even with the lines smudged out, you could still tell that the batter's foot was in front of home plate and the ump called it right away! Way to go Ump!

Now, if we can limit those unsightly illegal pitches like that!

By in front of the plate I'm guessing you mean forward of the plate and in between the two batter's boxes, because her foot/feet can be forward of the plate as long as she's in the (LH) batters box. On the key call that cost A&M the game, I'd say she was probably out of the box, but it looked close to me, especially considering the timing of when bat contacted ball and her front foot came down.

I wonder how long it will be until the NCAA institutes instant replay....

And down goes FL...on a HR with a base runner who shouldn't have been on base...
Is it me...or are these umps calling the post season horrible or what?

Cant blame the umps for the extra outs FL gave them. And you have to give credit to Wilkinson who pitched 2 great games.

Just shows how much of an accomplishment it was for Florida to go back to back. Three was a tall order. Im on the James Madison bandwagon now.

um...yeah...of course I had meant in FRONT of home plate and OUT of the Batter's Box. At least that is what all the key replays had shown. The ump made the right call on all of them, too.

Note to coaches: If you get tossed, let someone else bring your backpack to you after the game. Walking off the field with it strapped to your back isn't a good look.

Agreed. I also wondered if there was anything in the backpack the other coaches needed/wanted for the game.

I guess I missed it, who got tossed?
