Not to be rude, but there are some slides on here that I would show my players on how NOT to slide. Just saying....

HAHA, actually that was not one of them. I think she is nice and level and won't go pounding into the ground hurting her chest plate. Had a girl do that 2 years ago. Had to go to the hospital to make sure her heart beat was regular.

I just don't like the headfirst sliding as I had the pleasure of watching my DH do a nice headfirst slide when the girlies were little. Came up in absolute pain. His ring finder at the main joint was at a 90 degree angle. NICE. Thank God there were paramedics in the parking lot taking a break.

Last year - stealing 2B - on a delay... got in scoring position and scored on the next pitch (double by the Clean up hitter).


I like it 'cause you can barely see the SS in the frame - due to her wide slide!

This is definitely a slide I would show to kids on how to slide!!!

I don't think head first slides are taught as much as they are just done by instinctive ballplayers who want to win more than they are worrying about breaking a fingernail.
