Action shots when it is getting dark are tough. I have found you need a pretty good setup to do this. A lens with a wide aperature, preferably f2.8. Put the ISO as high as it will go, 1600 or higher if your camera is capable. Then manually adjust the shutter speed so the shots are not all blured out. They will be somewhat dark, but you can adjust that in photoshop. I am just an ambitious amature, but that seems to work for me.

Thanks - it's funny, I wasn't actually looking for ball curling around bat this time...

Someone posted up here awhile ago a shot of the purple/white Easton with a significant flex at impact and I saw our girl pick this bat up and I thought, "I wonder...".

Lo and behold... a different shot!

Here is a ball to the tummy instead of ball to the bat. But she got on base. Heck of a bruise, afterwards, a big smile.
